our history:
Ingenuity runs in our blood, born out of hard work, common sense problem solving. We introduced the first-ever mechanically-operated tractor mounted logging saw in the 1930’s. More firsts came with hydraulically-powered chain saws for the logging industry in addition to hydraulic motors, pumps, gear boxes, winches and earth drills in the 40’s. In the 50’s, we launched the first gasoline-powered ice auger. The tracks we laid helped further mechanize the logging industry, fuel acceptance of mobile hydraulic components in construction and agriculture, plus sparked ice fishing as a sport into the multi-million-dollar industry it is today respectively.
The 60’s to present day saw the expansion of the hand-held hole digger line and the addition of the original DIG-R-MOBILE® concept, evolving General Equipment into the most coveted and respected line of portable and mobile hole digging products in the world. Major innovation and product line additions continued with confined space ventilation blowers, air scrubbers, rotary asphalt cutting attachments, surface preparation grinders, strippers, pneumatic tools, and random crack saws, plus, dust collection systems. Grinding attachment systems such as SCRAPE-R-TACH™ and DIAM-A-TACH™ positioned General as an acknowledged industry leader.
